BURMA SAPPHIRES

Burma (Myanmar) sapphires from the legendary Mogok Valley are prized for their intense "royal blue" color — a deep, saturated blue that many consider the ideal sapphire color. These stones command significant premiums in the market.

WHY BURMA SAPPHIRES?

The Royal Blue: Burmese sapphires are famous for their deep, saturated blue with a slight violet undertone. This "royal blue" is considered by many to be the ideal sapphire color — rich and commanding without being too dark.

The Mogok Valley: The Mogok region has produced fine gemstones for over 800 years. The geological conditions create sapphires with exceptional color saturation. Mogok is also famous for producing the world's finest rubies.

Decreasing Supply: Political instability and mining restrictions have made Burmese sapphires increasingly difficult to source. Fine unheated specimens from Mogok are becoming rare, driving up values for existing stones.

Collector Appeal: Burmese sapphires occupy a unique position — more attainable than Kashmir but with stronger color than most Ceylon stones. They're the sweet spot for serious collectors.
