PADPARADSCHA

The padparadscha sapphire is the rarest of all sapphires. Its name comes from the Sinhalese word for "lotus flower" — describing its unique pink-orange color that exists nowhere else in nature. True padparadschas are extraordinarily rare and highly prized.

Every padparadscha in our collection is natural, with origin and treatment disclosed, GRS or GIA certification available on request, and backed by our 12-month buyback guarantee.

WHAT DEFINES A PADPARADSCHA?

The Perfect Balance

A true padparadscha shows a delicate balance of pink and orange — like a tropical sunset or lotus blossom. Too pink, it's a pink sapphire. Too orange, it's an orange sapphire. The perfect balance is exceptionally rare.

Saturation

The finest padparadschas show medium saturation — vivid enough to display color, soft enough to maintain the delicate character. Overly saturated stones lose the ethereal quality.

Origin Matters

Ceylon is the classic source and commands the highest premiums. Madagascar produces fine material. The term "padparadscha" is strictly defined by gemological laboratories.

Extreme Rarity

True padparadschas are rarer than any other sapphire variety. Fine stones over 2 carats are exceptional. Over 5 carats, museum-quality.
