The Cornflower Blue Sapphire is a 5.55-carat oval-cut sapphire from Sri Lanka measuring 11.55 × 8.64 × 7.08 mm. It displays an intense cornflower blue — the most prized colour in the Ceylon sapphire market. Cornflower blue is a precise description: medium-toned, highly saturated blue with no grey or violet secondary tones. It is the colour standard against which Ceylon sapphires have been measured at Sotheby's and Christie's for decades.

At 5.55 carats in cornflower blue, this stone occupies a weight category where fine Ceylon material is genuinely scarce — the majority of investment-grade production is cut in the 2–5 carat range, and stones above 5 carats command meaningfully higher per-carat premiums in the collector and auction market. The combination of size and colour saturation produces the per-carat premium structure that underpins long-term value appreciation.

The stone has been heat-treated, the standard practice for enhancing colour saturation in Ceylon sapphires. Heat treatment is fully accepted in the international gemstone market and does not affect the stone's origin authenticity or collectibility. Certification is pending and will confirm origin and treatment status prior to sale. Buyers interested in early access may contact The Sapphire Bank directly.
