The Cornflower Blue Sapphire is a 5.50-carat oval-cut sapphire from Sri Lanka displaying an intense cornflower blue — the most prized colour in the Ceylon sapphire market. Cornflower blue is a precise description: medium-toned, highly saturated blue with no grey or violet secondary tones. It is the colour standard against which Ceylon sapphires have been measured at Sotheby's and Christie's for decades.

At 5.50 carats in cornflower blue, this stone occupies the intersection of two scarcity factors: the colour itself (roughly 5–10% of Ceylon production reaches true cornflower saturation) and the weight category (5+ carat fine material is rarely available on the open market).
